This company is a young, dynamic, and growing organization looking to expand the Finance team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive Senior Controller, based in Rotterdam but operating on a global scale.
As Senior Controller, you will manage monthly reporting, ensure data accuracy, and handle correct and timely tax reporting and filings. You will play a central role in reliable reporting, support effective decision-making, and contribute to the organization's financial stability and growth. You will report to the VP Finance and work alongside the Financial Controller and Finance Assistant.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure correct presentation of data in the monthly report and challenge the Financial Controller on deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Analyze, implement, and report on ESG requirements for shareholders and possible external obligations.
- Assist in preparing the new year's budget with the VPs and monitor performance against the budget.
- Support the VP Finance in preparing ad-hoc business cases and financial forecasts for the management team and C-suite.
- Maintain an up-to-date Tax Control Framework and cover potential risks.
- Prepare the CIT filing, TP documentation, and ensure timely submissions for these taxes.
- Oversee accurate filing of wage and VAT tax (including but not limited to WKR).
- Contribute to improving short- and long-term forecasts for the company, both overall and at the P&L level.
- Prepare and guide external financial audits.
- Maintain the accounting manual and ensure its correct application for internal and external reporting.
- Ensure timely payments of trade payables and loans while managing cash requirements across all entities.
- Review payment schedules for accurate dates and correct bank accounts.
- Monitor outstanding intercompany balances and advise on account clearing through dividends and share premium conversions to optimize tax planning; reconcile and clear intercompany balances to reflect the consolidated entity's financial position accurately.
What We Ask from You
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a larger audit firm or in a financial/business control role. Aviation (after)market experience is a plus.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certification such as RA or RC is an advantage.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with international tax regulations.
- Team management abilities.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards.
- Fluency in English, as it is predominant in aviation for communication with global stakeholders.
